From Brooklyn to Jamaica

The past month has been a whirlwind of activity and growth, taking me from every deep corner of Brooklyn, NY to where I am currently - Kingston, Jamaica.

By now you should have gathered from my abstruse posts both here and on Instagram that I've been working on an album for some time. At this point, I won't even call it a labor of love, as it's been more an exercise in patience, trust, focus, and humility. Admittedly, there have been quite a few points along the way where I doubted myself and considered calling it quits. I imagine similar thoughts will creep up a few more times before I’m finished, but I’ll keep pushing, nonetheless.

A lot remains to be done, and since I'm doing this alone, perhaps sharing the remainder of my album journey will help me push more steadily towards the finish line. Album ETA - Spring, 2019. First single ETA - by March, 2019. Here are a few things I have left to figure out:

  • Distribution service (CD Baby? TuneCore?)

  • First single selection

  • First single artwork

  • Album artwork

  • Music video concepts

  • Marketing plan

  • Last minute organ work

Each day I remind myself that "perfection is the enemy of good." Remember that. As all of you artists, creators, and entrepreneurs know, when you love something and believe in yourself, you must make sacrifices and invest in your vision.  I don't know what the payoff for all of this will be, but the process continues to be reward enough.

Hope all is well with your journey.
